A Star Is Born opens a new chapter in Bradley Cooper’s spectacular show biz career. For the first time, he’s not only starring in the movie, but directing it as well. The film has a storied history to live up to, since all three previous versions — in 1937, 1954, and 1976 — received multiple Oscar nominations. So why, as a first-time director, did Cooper want to tackle a challenge like this? He told us it was a passion project for him, and that once he started shooting scenes with Lady Gaga, he’d made the right choice about both the film and his co-star.
