Sometimes, you hear stories about celebrities who no longer talk to the press, and you may wonder why. After all, you might think, it seems pretty easy — sit down, answer a few questions, and it’s over. But, having been part of thousands of celebrity interviews ourselves, we can tell you it’s not always that easy. Sometimes, they can become nightmares. Ten years ago, Robert Downey Jr. was in the movie Tropic Thunder; it was a movie and a role he took very seriously. In fact, he even earned an Oscar nomination for it! But at a press roundtable event, there was a local radio personality who didn’t take things very seriously, and the result was a very, very uncomfortable exchange between Downey and the DJ. Since then, Downey has gone on to make movies that have grossed nearly $4 billion at the box office. The DJ? We don’t know, but our guess is that you can now hear his voice booming through a local drive-thru speaker at an L.A. fast food restaurant.
