Maia Mitchell, best known for her work in The Fosters, co-stars with Camila Morrone in the engaging and refreshingly uncompromising coming of age story Never Goin’ Back.
The storyline centers on Angela (Mitchell) and Jessie (Morrone), roommates who make ends meet at a local Texas diner. When Angela splurges their rent money for a surprise trip to Galveston, the pair must do double shifts to make up for their lack of cash before enjoying a little fun in the sun. These girls, however, are not exactly straight-laced, and their drug taking tendencies and off the cuff behavior leads them down an unpredictable path.
The comedy, inspired by filmmaker Augustine Frizzell’s own life, proved to be a creatively gratifying experience for Mitchell. Click on the media bar to hear the actress talk about working on Never Goin’ Back:
