Kristen Bell (The Good Place), Kathy Bates, Gabrielle Union, and activist Patrisse Cullors will receive the Women Making History Award, an honor given to women who have made “significant contributions to their fields and serve as an inspiration to women everywhere.”
The honorees will be feted at the Women Making History Awards brunch at the Beverly Hilton on September 15, with the event being hosted by the National Women’s History Museum (NWHM) and its Los Angeles Regional Council.
“Our nation’s greatest successes rest on American’ women’s shoulders, and it’s time to acknowledge their active roles in our history – the roles our grandmothers, mothers, aunts, granddaughters, daughters, and nieces play in the workplace, community and home,” said NWHM Board Chair Susan D. Whiting. “Our honorees this year exemplify women’s contributions to the social, cultural, economic and political life of our country. America’s history remains unfinished. It’s time to complete it.”
Previous recipients include former First Lady Laura Bush, Kerry Washington, and Viola Davis. To purchase tickets, go here.
