Longtime friends and collaborators Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal have been developing Blindspotting for years, and now that dream has finally been realized. The story centers on Collin (Diggs), a guy whose chances at staying on the straight and narrow path during three days probation is compromised by his best friend Miles (Casal).
“We didn’t believe it that it was actually going to be shot,” said Diggs about the Oakland set comedy/drama. “And we had been told that before and it had never worked out. I think when we were actually, finally on set shooting every 15 seconds there was pretty much a moment of ‘this is really happening.’ I think we were both exceptionally proud of the film that came out of it but also the way in which it was made.”

Blindspotting, co-starring Janina Gavankar, opens nationwide July 27.
