Noomi Rapace and Rooney Mara have each made their mark as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (Rapace starred in three movies as Salander). This time out, Claire Foy takes over as Salander in The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a feature directed by Don’t Breathe filmmaker Fede Alvarez.
“There has to be room for her evolving and changing with the time as well,” said Foy, best known for her work on The Crown and more recently the thriller Unsane. “Otherwise it won’t live on and I think that’s the beauty of it – that it’s going to live on. There is huge respect and understanding with honoring the books and honoring the original character but wanting her to change in order for her to keep going.”
