If you’re passionate about canines, Dog Days should be a movie that’s on your radar. The Los Angeles set comedy, directed by How To Be A Latin Lover filmmaker Ken Marino, boasts an all-star cast (Vanessa Hudgens, Eva Longoria, Nina Dobrev, Adam Pally, Tig Notaro, Ron Cephas Jones) and actually looks promising thanks to its just released trailer.

Dog Days feels like a homage to late filmmaker Garry Marshall’s ensemble driven comedies Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and New Year’s Eve. Marino proved with How To Be A Latin Lover that he can offer up a light touch to comedy while still injecting a bit of subversive humor into the mix, and hopefully that element will also be a part of Dog Days. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think!

Dog Days opens nationwide August 10.
