Even though the film doesn’t fit into the mold of the average holiday blockbuster, and it certainly doesn’t aim for the same demographics, Book Club came in a respectable fourth place over the Memorial Day weekend. In its first two weeks, the movie has grossed nearly $40 million. The fact that the movie has been successful at the box office is just icing on the cake for its star, Jane Fonda, who told us that, for her, the real joy was making a movie that reflected what she’s going through at this stage of her life.
