Dennis Haysbert knows a thing or two about successful TV shows thanks to his work on 24 and The Unit, and he may have another winner with the new NBC program Reverie.
The storyline centers on a former hostage negotiator named Mara Kint (Sarah Shahi) who is hired by her former boss Charlie Ventana (Haysbert) to rescue people in a virtual reality program called Reverie. Charlie, an ex-cop, is fully aware of Mara’s skills as a hostage negotiator, and he believes she can rescue the growing number of people who have become too immersed in this ultimately debilitating VR universe.
“I think the main thing people are going to get from this story is, for one, they’re going to love this cast,” said Haysbert. “But it’s a very guest star driven show. So they’re going to love, really get into, and understand what their reveries might be by watching these seemingly innocent civilians come in and create their own (world).”
