Trevor Jackson (Grown-ish) will continue to see his star rise thanks to his lead role in SuperFly, a modern day remake of the 1972 feature. The project, which features music from Future (his single “Walk On Minks” can be heard on the film’s official site), also puts a spotlight on the diverse and artistically flourishing city of Atlanta.

“I think Atlanta is to the world what New York was in the 70s,” said Jackson. “I think it was the hub for music, for creativity, even movies. Every movie now is shot in Atlanta. It’s a great place to be. It’s the fashion. It’s the women. The hair. My hair I feel like it’s a huge piece of his character – his superhero uniform. His hair. His jacket. His boots. So I think it was very important to do it in Atlanta.”
