Billy Dee Williams was a fan favorite in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as Lando Calrissian, an old friend of Han Solo’s (and the original owner of the Millennium Falcon). In the new movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, we get to see how that friendship developed, with Atlanta’s Donald Glover playing the role. Director Ron Howard told us he thought the Golden Globe winner found a great balance between making the character his own and paying homage to the classic Williams version of the character.
