Though an official trailer has yet to be released, the announcement of Suspiria’s November 2nd release is huge thanks to the momentum of Call Me By Your Name filmmaker Luca Guadagnino. He reteams with his A Bigger Splash actors Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton with Suspiria, a thriller inspired by the Dario Argento classic of the same name.
The storyline centers on a new dancer (Johnson) of a world renowned troupe who uncovers the dance company’s dark secrets. Swinton is the artistic director in the flick, which also features Chloe Grace Moretz and Mia Goth. In an inspired bit of casting, Guadagnino also has original Suspiria lead Jessica Harper as part of its ensemble. Harper, who is also known for her work in Brian De Palma’s Phantom of the Paradise, has heaped her share of praise on the film.
Do you think Suspiria will be remembered come awards time just like Black Swan? Feel free to comment below!
