About to complete its 11th season — and renewed for a 12th — The Big Bang Theory is, by far, this generation’s longest-lived sitcom. In terms of ratings, longevity, and impact, the last show that was even in Big Bang’s ballpark was Friends, which was a huge hit and cultural touchstone for 10 seasons. At a recent press event, the two shows were mentioned as having a similar legacy, and the Big Bang cast members — Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Kaley Cuoco — were very flattered by the comparison.
