One of this year’s most anticipated features is Sicario: Day of the Soldado, the unexpected sequel to Sicario. Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro return for this installment, and although Emily Blunt and filmmaker Denis Villeneuve are not part of the project, the sequel was penned by Sicario screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (Wind River, Hell or High Water).
“Right from the top, from the first pages, (the script) was great,” said Del Toro. “There was Taylor all over it. So (the) actors, director, producers, and everyone involved in this film, we just try to bring Taylor’s script to life. We’re brought alive because of Taylor’s work.”
