With The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow already on the air, The CW has the deepest and most diverse roster of superheroes on television. Now, the lineup is growing, as Black Lightning joins the lineup next week. Cress Williams plays the title character, who originated in the pages of DC Comics. And as Williams reached back into his own youth for his own personal “Superheroes 101” course, he really developed an appreciation for what the show — and other racially diverse superheroes — are bringing to today’s world. Black Lightning premieres next Tuesday (1/16) at 9/8c on The CW, following the winter premiere of The Flash.
