Loosely based on the real-life story of show biz pioneer P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an old-style musical saluting — what else? — showmanship. So it makes perfect sense that they brought in a musical veteran, Zach Efron, as one of the movie’s stars. As part of an ensemble that also includes Hugh Jackman, Zendaya, and Rebecca Ferguson, Efron pointed out that everyone involved with the movie was giving 110% to making the story and its music come alive on the screen. The Greatest Showman opens in theaters on December 20.
