The Glass Castle, which is based on Jeannette Walls’ bestselling memoir, hits Blu-ray and DVD November 7 via Lionsgate. The movie chronicles Walls’ (Oscar winning actress Brie Larson) relationship with her dysfunctional father (Woody Harrelson) which in term inspired her to pursue a career in writing. Naomi Watts co-stars in the feature which marks a reunion between director Destin Daniel Cretton and Larson (they worked together on Short Term 12).

Larson was playing a real life character, Walls was not possessive over the material and gave Larson free reign over the role.  Click on the media bar to hear the actress talk about meeting Walls during the production of The Glass Castle:

Special features on the Blu-ray include 9 deleted scenes and several featurettes (The Glass Castle: Memoir to Movie, A Conversation with Jeannette Walls, Making of ‘Summer Storm’ by Joel P. West, and “Scoring The Glass Castle“).
