Director Aaron Katz’s last film, the visually arresting friendship tale Land Ho! (he co-directed with Martha Stephens), was an absolute wonder, and now he’s back with the intriguing film noir Gemini.
Lola Kirke (Mistress America) is Jill, a personal assistant to an unpredictable and unhinged actress named Heather (Zoe Kravitz). Whether it’s her agent (Michelle Forbes) or an irate writer-director (Nelson Franklin), Heather has her share of people frustrated with her behavior. When a homicide occurs Jill is pulled into the center of the investigation, as a detective (John Cho) attempts to solve this puzzling case (Jill’s own gun is the murder weapon).
The trailer pulled me in right from the get go, and it’s great to see Katz once again working with Land Ho! composer Keegan Dewitt and cinematographer Andrew Reed. Check out the trailer for Gemini and tell us what you think!
Gemini, co-starring Ricki Lake, is set for a Spring 2018 release.
