The action-comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard centers on a highly respected agent (Ryan Reynolds) who’s tasked with protecting a dangerous hit man (Samuel L. Jackson). Reynolds previously worked with Patrick Hughes, the film’s director, on Safe House.
Though both worked as voice actors on the animated flick Turbo, this marks their first onscreen pairing. “Sam and I met each other many times and we knew each other but we never worked together liked this,” said Reynolds. “We (previously) worked on an animated film. Chemistry is everything. You’re dead in a movie like this if you don’t have that.”
Though The Hitman’s Bodyguard’s selling point is its top level talent (Salma Hayek co-stars) and its action, the movie also has its a love story amidst all that firepower. Click on the media bar below to hear how Darius Kincaid (Jackson) teaches a few life lessons to Michael Bryce (Reynolds).
The Hitman’s Bodyguard opens nationwide August 18.
