The action thriller Atomic Blonde centers on Lorraine Broughton (Charlize Theron), an M16 assassin who travels to Berlin to deliver a dossier into the right hands. James McAvoy is David Percival, a self-destructive station chief who helps her navigate through the area.
McAvoy was interested in the project from the jump even though it wasn’t a lead role. “I read the script,” said McAvoy who drew raves for his multi-layered role in the M. Night Shyamalan thriller Split. “I responded to it. I think they thought they were going to have to chase me because it wasn’t a lead role or anything but I was so into the part and into the story and into the fun of it.”
