I never pictured Anne Heche teaming up with Wesley Snipes in an action movie, but crazier things have happened in cinema. John Stockwell, whose previous credits include Into The Blue and Turistas, directs this story about a group of special forces soldiers who investigate the strange goings on at a compound. Nicknamed the “Temple,” the compound is the site where a previous team of soldiers disappeared, and this latest group looks like they’re in over their head as well.

The trailer promises its share of bullets flying and fisticuffs (including a face off between Snipes and Brothers & Sisters star Dave Annable!), and I’m excited to see if Heche and Snipes have their own respective showdown. Although the TV series The Player failed to catch fire, Snipes is gradually making his way back in the business, and hopefully Armed Response is another step in the right direction. Filmmakers should also use their imagination and cast him in more dramatic oriented material, as his work in The Waterdance, Down in the Delta and Liberty Stands Still are just samples of his acting acumen.

Check out the trailer to Armed Response and tell us what you think!

Armed Response hits theaters and On Demand August 4.
