More than two decades after his death, Tupac Shakur remains a revered figure in hip-hop, as evidenced by the strong opening of the biopic All Eyez On Me at the box office. His music continues to reach new generations; in 2014, 18 years after its release, the album All Eyez On Me earned Diamond status, indicating sales of 10 million copies. Demetrius Shipp Jr., who plays Shakur in the movie, told us why he thinks the rapper’s music remains relevant today.
