‘House Of Cards’ Can’t Shock Kevin Spacey

We’ve heard many television actors tell us they can’t wait to read each new script because they can’t wait to see what new surprises are in store for their characters. That isn’t the case, though, for Kevin Spacey. The two-time Oscar winner currently stars on the Netflix political drama House of Cards, and while the show often delivers bombshell plot twists, Spacey rarely finds himself surprised. But he tells us there’s a very good reason for that. (Click on the media bar below to hear Kevin Spacey)

Season 5 of House of Cards is now streaming on Netflix.

Steven Soderbergh Continues Cinematic Heists With ‘Logan Lucky’

loganlucky7

Director Steven Soderbergh’s self-proclaimed hiatus from directing movies lasted all of four years, and that’s a good thing since Logan Lucky has the makings of a comedic gem. Soderbergh, whose body of work covers a ton of genre, had his biggest commercial hits with his Ocean’s Eleven films, and now he’s pulling off another cinematic heist with Logan Lucky.

Reteaming with Magic Mike collaborator Channing Tatum, Soderbergh’s first film since 2013’s Side Effects centers on brothers (Tatum, Adam Driver) who attempt to rob the Coca-Cola 600 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Daniel Craig, who should be the film’s funnest character, plays the recently freed prisoner who helps in the brothers’ criminal escapade.

As with his Ocean’s Eleven movies, Logan Lucky features an all-star cast which includes Katie Holmes, Hilary Swank, Katherine Waterston, Riley Keough (she worked on the Soderbergh produced series The Girlfriend Experience), and Sebastian Stan. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!

Logan Lucky opens nationwide August 18th.

Gal Gadot Delivers “Profound Message” With ‘Wonder Woman’ Journey

Gal Gadot gave a scene stealing performance as Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and thanks to great reviews Wonder Woman is expected to be a box office smash.

The decision to have Monster filmmaker Patty Jenkins as the film’s director and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor as hour heroine’s sidekick was also an inspired choice.

With the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) grappling to find a balance between living with humans and embracing his own culture and the Caped Crusader (Ben Affleck) continuing to exorcise his demons, Wonder Woman is cut from an entirely different cloth. Though she is a warrior beyond measure, Wonder Woman is filled with compassion, and Gal Gadot says that quality is a huge reason for her strength. Click on the media bar below to hear the actress talk about the “profound message” behind the movie.

Wonder Woman, co-starring Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright, opens nationwide June 2.

‘Pirates’ Producer Pleasantly Surprised To Tell So Many Tales

The $285.4 million global opening of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales pushed the franchise’s total take above the $4 billion mark worldwide. That’s a pretty good total for a series based on a theme park attraction, one that should silence the doubters who thought a Disneyland ride would make for flimsy source material. But the results have even been surprising to Jerry Bruckheimer. One of the most prolific producers in Hollywood history, even he wasn’t sure about the sustainability of a Pirates franchise.

Given the early success of Dead Men Tell No Tales, we’d be surprised if Bruckheimer’s phone hasn’t already been ringing.
