Nicole Kidman turns 50 this year (June 20th to be exact), and though ageism is an issue that will always be part of the entertainment industry, the actress is busier than ever. In the past two years Kidman has turned in first rate work in The Family Fang, Lion, the underrated Secret In Their Eyes, and the hit HBO mini-series Big Little Lies. In September she will be featured on the second season of Top of the Lake which reunited her with The Portrait of the Lady filmmaker Jane Campion.
During The Beguiled press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, Kidman talked about how having a foot in both television and acting has provided a creative boon to her career. The Beguiled, directed by Sofia Coppola and co-starring Colin Farrell, opens in New York and Los Angeles June 23.
