Michael Peña and Dax Shepard seem like the perfect pairing for a cop buddy comedy, and the comedic team headlined the Warner Bros. comedy CHIPS earlier this year. Based on the popular 1977 TV series of the same name, CHIPS hits Blu-ray and DVD on June 27.

Shepard, who also penned and directed the film, is Jon Baker, an undercover Federal agent who belileves a multi-million dollar heist may have been coordinated by actual police officers. Pretending to be part of the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Baker lays down the law with Frank “Ponch” Poncharello (Peña). “Ponch,” a former motorbiker is attempting to put his marriage back together, and his off the cuff antics initially throws Baker off his game.

Special features on the Blu-ray disc include several featurettes (“This Is Not Your Dad’s CHIPS,” “Practical Pursuit,” and “Ducati: The Perfect Bike”), commentary from Dax Shepard, and deleted scenes. The DVD version comes with the “This Is Not Your Dad’s CHIPS” featurette.
