Thanks to his scene stealing work as the friendly neighborhood webslinger in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland’s star is on the rise. Expect that star to climb even bigger heights with the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming.
“This is a very different take on Spider-Man,” said Holland, whose previous credits include The Impossible and Wolf Hall. “This is something we haven’t seen before. I’m obviously a lot younger so we can really play on the youthful side of the character. We’ve seen the soldier. We’ve seen the billionaire. We’ve seen the god. And now it’s time to see the kid. It’s fun to see what would happen if you gave a 15-year-old super powers and I think what would happen is he’d have a pretty great time.”
The actor was recently at Sony Pictures’ CinemaCon to talk about playing Peter Parker. Click on the media bar to hear Tom Holland’s take on the enduring popularity of Spider-Man.
Spider-Man: Homecoming, co-starring Michael Keaton as the Vulture, opens nationwide July 7.
