Director/writer Richard Kelly’s revered tale Donnie Darko is celebrating its 15th anniversary in full cinematic bloom thanks to Arrow Films, as a 4K restoration of the film premieres March 30 at the Vista in Los Angeles. The picture, headlined by Jake Gyllenhaal, officially opens the following day at the Cinefamily in Los Angeles and the Metrograph in New York. Kelly and cinematographer Steven Poster supervised and approved the 4K restoration.

Movie fans can check out the theatrical or director’s cut (this version runs twenty minutes longer) of Donnie Darko, as the film will also be shown in Denver, Columbus, Cleveland, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Tempe, Tulsa, San Francisco, El Paso, Portland and Detroit.

Donnie Darko will also return for week long runs in Denver, Columbus, Cleveland, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Tempe, Tulsa and San Francisco on March 31st, and in El Paso, Portland and Detroit on April 7. For a full list of the screenings, check out Cartilage Films.
