It was nearly 30 years ago, in October of 1987, when Matt Damon first stepped in front of Hollywood’s cameras for a small role in the movie Mystic Pizza. Since then, he’s gone on to win an Academy Award for screenwriting, had three of his acting performances nominated for Oscars, and even had a movie he produced (Manchester by the Sea) in the running for this year’s Best Picture Oscar. And the movies he’s acted in have grossed more than $3.1 billion at the box office. So it’s safe to say he’s had a pretty successful, gratifying career. But to Damon, working in the film industry is more than about making money and winning awards; he truly enjoys getting to tell stories that he likes. (Click on the media bar below to hear Matt Damon)
Damon’s latest movie, The Great Wall, is playing in theaters now.
