The Good Wife had a good run.  But after seven years, and despite the series still having a sizable, dedicated core audience, CBS decided to pull the plug.  Because the show was still successful, many cast members were caught off guard by the announcement.  Christine Baranski, who picked up six consecutive Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Diane Lockhart, says that while she was surprised the show was cancelled, she was thrilled when creators Michelle & Robert King decided to continue the story with a spin-off, The Good Fight, based on her character.  (Click on the media bar to hear Christine Baranski)

Baranski, Cush Jumbo, and Sarah Steele reprise their roles from The Good Wife when The Good Fight premieres February 19 on CBS All Access.
