A new domestic trailer for The Lost City of Z, James Gray’s (The Immigrant) highly anticipated epic headlined by Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim) and Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga), has been released. Based on David Grann’s nonfiction bestseller, the centers on British explorer Percy Fawcett’s (Hunnam) journey into the most remote areas of the Amazon. Though his attempts to search for this “lost city” is ambitious, his explorations is negatively received by the scientific community. The naysayers don’t stop Fawcett from attempting to find this lost civilization, and it’s a quest that eventually leads to his disappearance in 1925.

Pattinson co-stars as the military official who accompanies Fawcett on his trips, with Sienna Miller (Live By Night) and Tom Holland (upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming) playing his wife and son respectively. As witnessed with the underrated The Immigrant, Gray knows how to tell a personal story amidst an arresting visual canvas, and we”re hoping The Lost City of Z is another solid effort from the filmmaker. Hunnam, whose success has come from the long running TV series Sons of Anarchy, has done his share of movies (Pacific Rim, Children of Men), but he still hasn’t broken out as an A-list star. Maybe The Lost City of Z will change those fortunes.

The Lost City of Z hits Los Angeles and New York April 14 and opens nationwide the following week. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think!!
