Joel Smallbone is best known for his music thanks to For King & Country, and with Priceless he’s also proven that acting is part of his creative arsenal.
Inspired by true stories, Priceless centers on James Stevens (Smallbone), a widower who’s lost custody of his daughter and is trying to piece together his understandably troubled life. His latest side job, which will pay him a ton of cash, is to drive a box truck cross country without asking any questions. Upon discovering the truck holds two sisters (Bianca Santos, Amber Midthunder), James realizes they may be enslaved in a human trafficking ring run by the very guy (Jim Parrack) who hired him. Does James look away, take the money, and run, or does he risk his own life for these relative strangers? David Koechner co-stars as Dale, a principled and brave man who befriends our protagonist on his perilous journey.
“It was on both levels, in front of the camera and behind the camera, incredibly meaningful to tell the story of family through this film,” said Smallbone.
