Co-showrunners Eric Kripke (Revolution, Supernatural) and Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Last Resort) bring their genre driven talents together to create Timeless, an action adventure series which features time travel as its backbone. With the state of America in peril, it’s up to a scientist (Malcolm Barrett), soldier (Matt Lanter) and history professor (Abigail Spencer) to change a few critical moments in the past without drastically altering present day events. Of course, every ripple in time has its repercussions, whether big or small, and seeing its consequences should be one of the show’s most intriguing aspects.
Along with collaborating with Kripke and Ryan, Spencer gravitated to “Lucy” due to the depth of her character. “I wasn’t looking for another show to do, but of the characters that were in front of me, this was was the most holistic, the deepest (role),” said Spencer, whose previous TV credits include Mad Men and Rectify. “She gets to be the hero and gets to be scared. She gets to be all of it, so the role was very interesting to me.”
