Currently streaming on NETFLIX, the third season of the award-winning series ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK is continuing to prove that the relatively new trend of ‘binge watching’ is here to stay. Set in a women’s prison and centered on the drug related incarceration of an upscale preppy housewife, the series has become the darling of the hip and in-the-know crowd.
Based on the best-selling memoir by PIPER KERMAN, the show has proven to be a showcase for a cast that includes TAYLOR SCHILLING, LAURA PREPON, KATE MULGREW, UZO ADUBA, NATASHA LYONNE, TARYN MANNING and LAVERNE COX.
Yesterday, the cast of OITNB faced reporters at a TCA press conference and it was critically acclaimed actress UZO ADUBA (Crazy Eyes on the show) who really nailed it in responding to a question about the relevance of the series to the actual state of the U.S. penal system.
