Part of Gotham’sallure, along with its in-depth look at James Gordon and Bruce Wayne’s origin stories, lies in its film noir drenched aesthetic. Gotham was never a sunny place to live, and the series’ creators have accurately draped the town in seductive black and grey. That visual palette translates into the show’s main character, James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), who spent season one learning the ins and outs of the system, is now a hardened vet going into season two with justice on his mind.
“Gordon is basically a new man in the sense of he feels emboldened to do whatever it takes to get it done,” says McKenzie.

Season two premieres on FOX September 21, and you can stream season one via the FOXNOW app or watch Gotham tonight at (8/7c).
Debuting on MTV in August, TODRICK is an eight episode reality series documenting YouTuber TODRICK HALL and his team as they race to make weekly music videos. A self-confessed ‘Broadway kid’, HALL has more than found a home and career on YouTube with upwards of two million subscribers and over 160 million views. Last year he and his crew were able to go on a successful cross-country tour and plans for another are reportedly in the works.
Facing reporters earlier this week at a TCA press conference, HALL was very clear that, despite the series deal with MTV, he has no intention of abandoning his YouTube channel. Instead, the series will serve as a tool to further his brand.
A former American Idol semi-finalist (ninth season),HALL also talked about how his experience on that show influenced his work. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
Since its original release in 2001, the low-budget, raunchy comedy WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER has become a cult ‘guilty pleasure’ largely because of its (then somewhat unknown) cast of amazing talents. Now, producers/writers MICHAEL SHOWALTER and DAVID WAIN have reassembled that cast (and even increased it) for the new NETFLIX series WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: FIRST DAY OF CAMP.
Set in 1981, the eight episode series reinvents all the wacky raunch of the original film as it follows the counselors and campers on their first day at Camp Firewood. It also reunites cast members AMY POEHLER, PAUL RUDD, BRADLEY COOPER,DAVID HYDE PIERCE, CHRISTOPHER MELONI,MICHAEL IAN BLACK, ELIZABETH BANKS as well adding such names as JON HAMM, JOHN SLATTERY, CHRIS PINE, JOSH CHARLES, JASON SCHWARTZMAN and KRISTEN WIGG.
When asked at a recent TCA press conference if this marks the end of the line for WHAS, producer MICHAEL SHOWALTER indicated that there are plenty more stories to tell. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: FIRST DAY OF CAMP premieres in its entirety on NETFLIX 7/31.
Making its debut later this year on NETFLIX, MASTER OF NONE follows the personal and professional exploits of a hapless 30-year-old actor living in New York City. Produced by and starring comic/actor AZIZ ANSARI, the series will use a mix of his stand-up routines, his book (MODERN ROMANCE) and new material written specifically for the show to incorporate ANSARI’S unique and always interesting viewpoints.
Topics will be as diverse as ‘the plight of the elderly’, ‘the immigrant experience’ and ‘where to find the most delicious pasta for dinner’.
Earlier this week, ANSARI spoke at a TCA press conference to promote the upcoming series and he talked about how he and co-producers ALAN YANG and MICHAEL SCHUR developed the show and how his role will be different from the character he played on his previous series, PARKS AND RECREATION. Dwayne Johnson’s connection with the WWE runs deep, as his own father Rocky Johnson was a popular wrestler as well who actually helped train The Rock. While promoting the hit HBO series Ballers at the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills, Johnson was asked about Hulk Hogan’s racist comments about an African American who dated his daughter Brooke Hogan.
Rocky Johnson also helped train Hulk Hogan back in the 1970s, so Dwayne Johnson’s own connection to Hogan also goes back a healthy amount of years. Even though he admits that some people may say offensive comments behind closed doors, Johnson admitted he is deeply disappointed in Hogan.
