The Lunchbox Out on Blu-ray Combo pack and digital on July 1, The Lunchbox centers on a lonely accountant (Irrfan Khan) who exchanges notes to a frustrated housewife (Nimrat Kaur) amidst the hectic city life of Mumbai. Their correspondence begins over an error in the usually efficient lunchbox delivery system (the woman’s daily lunch was initially supposed to be sent to her husband but instead went to the accountaint), and they gradually bond by sharing their respective dreams and troubles.

The picture is directed by first time filmmaker Ritesh Batra, and the storyline is adied by excellent performances by the leads and photography work from talented cinematographer Michael Simmonds (he lensed the overlooked 2012 drama At Any Price).

Fans of Life of Pi should remember Irrfan Khan, and hopefully the film will continue the acting momentum of the magnetic Nimrat Kaur, who gives a heartfelt performance as the housewife whose heart is always in the right place.

Special features on the Blu-ray include an audio commentary from Batra, who breaks down all technical challenges (and subsequent triumphs) he encountered during the making of the movie. To check out our in-depth Blu-ray review of The Lunchbox, check out the post on our sister site Deepest Dream.
