147Airing Sunday nights on HBO, THE LEFTOVERS is a character driven drama about the aftermath of a ‘rapture’-like event that leaves the world frightened and grieving over the mysterious global disappearance of over 140 million people. Beautifully adapted by DAMON LINDELOF from the best selling novel by TOM PERROTTA, THE LEFTOVERS is a delicious combination of creepy and cool.

When it comes to cinematic adaptations, PERROTTA has been luckier than a lot of best selling authors. In 1999, ALEXANDER PAYNE wowed the critics with his theatrical adaptation of PERROTTA’S novel ELECTION and in 2006 TODD FIELD’S stunning film version of LITTLE CHILDREN was released by New Line to huge acclaim.

Earlier this season, PERROTTA spoke to TV critics about THE LEFTOVERS and talked about letting his books go for adaptation to the screen. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
