The Tom Cruise space flick Oblivion easily handled all comers this box office weekend, as it took $38.15 million at the box office. Oblivion has also strongly performed in foreign markets as well, as it’s already racked up over $136 million internationally.

Coming in second was 42 with $18 million, bumping its two week total to over $54 million domestically.  Meanwhile The Croods just keeps on ticking, with a strong third place showing of $9.5 million.  The DreamWorks Animation picture has a total box office gross of $397.5 million (it was budgeted at $135 million), making it one of this year’s more successful features.

3. The Croods – $9.5 million

4.  Scary Movie 5 – $6.3 million

5.  G.I. Joe: Retaliation – $5.78 million

6.  The Place Beyond the Pines – $4.74 million

7.  Olympus Has Fallen – $4.5 million

8.  Evil Dead – $4.1 million

9. Jurassic Park 3D – $4 million

10.  Oz The Great And Powerful – $3.05 million
