Director Danny Boyle is an artist who isn’t afraid of tackling different genres from picture to picture: Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, Sunshine, The Beach and Trainspotting are just several films that highlight his diverse body of work.
He’s at it again with the twisty thriller Trance, which centers on an art auctioneer (James McAvoy) who’s embroiled in a battle of wills with a hypnotherapist (Rosario Dawson) and a criminal (Vincent Cassel). At stake is a lost painting which only the auctioneer knows how to recover.
