G.I. Joe: Retaliation took in a solid $41.2 million domestically to take the #1 spot at this weekend’s box office. Since the picture opened Wednesday, its total haul is estimated at $51.7 million. The film also did excellent in international business, making $80.3 million.
The DreamWorks Animation project The Croods was #2 over the weekend, as it grossed $26.5 million. Here’s the top 10:

If you’ve seen Chronicle and Lawless, you may have been impressed by Dane DeHaan’s natural acting ability. Hollywood has also taken notice, as he co-stars with Daniel Radcliffe in Kill Your Darlings and plays Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Spring, however, is reserved for DeHaan’s new film The Place Beyond The Pines, director Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine) multi-layered story on the bond between fathers and sons.
“Derek creates a great working environment for the actor where it’s completely not results driven,” says DeHaan. “It’s just about exploring the scene and finding out what the scene needs to be and then just achieving some semblance of that. Whether that means turning five pages of dialogue into silence or turning silence into five pages of dialogue or just exploring everywhere in between. It’s an exploration and it feels incredibly creative.”
