Matthew McConaughey teams up with Take Shelter director Jeff Nichols for Mud.  The drama centers on a fugitive (McConaughey) on the lam from the police and a crime family for killing a man who threatened his girlfriend (Reese Witherspoon).

The film is the continuation of a string of character driven projects which mark a new creative chapter in McConaughey’s career.  Nichols, who received excellent reviews for Take Shelter, is known for telling intricate and emotionally intense stories, and this Arkansas set project should receive its share of critical attention when it opens nationwide April 26th.

During a recent interview, Mr. McConaughey talked about the actors he admired growing up, as he explained why Spencer Tracy was an early influence during his youth.
