The Client List

The good people at A&E Networks sent us a late afternoon e-mail, with a picture of Jennifer Love Hewitt posing in front of a Sunset Strip billboard promoting the second season premiere of The Client List (March 10th).

The photo was taken on Valentine’s Day, and like a good trooper Hewitt and co-star Loretta Devine (she broke my heart on Grey’s Anatomy!) met with press and photographers to promote their show.  The event took place at Mel’s Diner on Sunset Boulevard, the location of one of my favorite coffee shop haunts (Ben Frank’s).

Now I’m not saying, as a twentysomething in the 90s, that Jennifer Love Hewitt was the object of my pop culture affections.  I may have been a tinge jealous of Ethan Embry’s romantic wooing of the ingenue in 1998’s Can’t Hardly Wait.  The two I Know What You Did Last Summer flicks still hold a special place in my heart, as they’re forever linked to my callow youth.  And as much as I love Gene Hackman, he’s not the reason I loved Heartbreakers.

It’s been great to see Love Hewitt continue to flourish over the years, thanks to the success of Ghost Whisperer and The Client List. I also received the DVD of The Client List: The Complete First Season last week, and I’m actually excited to see if my middle-aged slacker self still holds a torch for the actress.

The DVD of The Client List comes out February 26th, the second season hits Lifetime on March 10th. And if you still don’t have enough Hewitt news to devour, check out her eye-popping video “I’m A Woman.”  Ah…Ethan Embry be damned!!
