With Django Unchained, actor Jamie Foxx stars in his most substantive film since  the critically acclaimed biopic Ray and the noir drenched Los Angeles flick Collateral.  Playing a slave who teams up with a shrewd bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) to find his wife (Kerry Washington), Foxx gives a surprisingly restrained performance as Django, as most of the scene stealing bits are gobbled up by Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Samuel L. Jackson.
