box-office-report31As expected, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PT. 2 pulled out all the stops at the weekend box office and took in a whopping (estimated) $141.3  m . In the #2 slot, the 23rd installment in the 50-year-old James Bond franchise, SKYFALL, played to $41.5  m and continues to give new life to a series that many thought was lost to time. Coming in at #3, STEVEN SPIELBERG’s critically acclaimed historical epic, LINCOLN, continued its roll-out to score $21 m. And, rounding out the Top Five are  Disney’s WRECK-IT RALPH ($18.3 m) and FLIGHT ($8.6 m).
The hugely phenomenal success of THE TWILIGHT SAGA comes perfectly at a time of the year when many take stock of things to be thankful for.
