Hotel Transylvania sunk its teeth into its competition and easily took to the #1 box office slot with a $43 million debut. The movie, which features the voices of Selena Gomez and Adam Sandler, easily beat out fellow newcomer Looper, which had a solid $21.2 million showing.

Kudos goes to the police drama End of Watch, a $7 million budgeted picture which made $8 million and took the third spot. To date, the picture has made a pretty profit after grossing over $26.1 million domestically. With good word of mouth and awards season around the corner, End of Watch should retain steady business in the coming weeks.
Clint Eastwood continues to have an audience, as his grumpy old man meets baseball film Trouble with the Curve managed a fourth place finish with $7.3 million. Fifth place went to the Jennifer Lawrence thriller House at the End of the Street with $7.2 million.
Rounding out the top ten, in descending order, are Pitch Perfect (#6 & a miserable $5.2 million debut), the re-release of Finding Nemo (#7, $4.1 million), Resident Evil: Retribution (#8, $3 million), The Master (#9, $2.75 in limited release), and Won’t Back Down (#10, $2.7 million).
