silver_linings_playbookJust named winner of the prestigious People’s Choice Award at the 2012 ¬†Toronto International Film Festival (and now considered a lock for a Best Picture Oscar nod), SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK is the big-screen adaptation of MATTHEW QUICK’S popular novel of the same name and tells the story of a young man trying to reconcile his life with a stay in a mental institution. Adapted and directed by DAVID O. RUSSELL, the cast features BRADLEY COOPER, JENNIFER LAWRENCE, ROBERT De NIRO, JULIA STILES, CHRIS TUCKER and JACKI WEAVER.
Proving what a small world movie-making can be, this film is a reunion for COOPER and De NIRO (who worked together in the 2011 thriller LIMITLESS) and was the impetus for COOPER and LAWRENCE to re-team in the currently shooting SUSANNE BIER family drama SERENA. Addressing entertainment reporters during a TIFF press conference, RUSSELL talked about how actors working together more than once can form a serviceable bond for directors to use.
