Director Andrew Stanton Did Double Duty On ‘John Carter’

john-carter-posterOpening in theaters next week, JOHN CARTER is an epic sci-fi adventure based on a series of stories by TARZAN author EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS and telling of a Civil War vet who suddenly finds himself transported to Mars where he finds himself in the middle of a whole wagon full of intergalactic turmoil. The film is being released in conjunction with the centennial anniversary of the character’s debut and will, hopefully create a new generation of BURROUGHS fans.
Marking the live-action directorial debut of ANDREW STANTON (THE INCREDIBLES), the cast includes TAYLOR KITSCH, LYNN COLLINS and WILLEM DeFOE.
STANTON thought that, by taking on this assignment, he’d be taking a little vacation from working in animation but he confessed to us that wasn’t quite the way it turned out. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
