Since it’s release over the holidays, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has taken in a disappointing $32.4 million, and hopefully the critically acclaimed piece (Rooney Mara’s garnering excellent reviews for her inspired take on Lisbeth Sander) will find its footing this weekend (the picture’s budget is estimated at $90 million).
On a brighter note, David Fincher was effusive (as effusive as a cerebral filmmaker can be) over his collaboration with Mara and co-star Daniel Craig, whom he sees as a modern day Robert Mitchum.
