footloose_ver3When back-up dancer KENNY WORMALD got the call to audition for the big-screen remake of FOOTLOOSE it was like a dream come true. He’d seen the film as a kid and knew then he wanted to one day do what he was seeing on film. Originally directed by HERBERT ROSS and starring KEVIN BACON, LORI SINGER, JOHN LITHGOW, CHRIS PENN, DIANNE WIEST and SARAH JESSICA PARKER, the film went on to success as a stage show. This time around, CRAIG BREWER (BLACK SNAKE MOAN) handles the directing chores, and the cast features KENNY WORMALD, JULIANNE HOUGH, DENNIS QUAID, ANDIE MacDOWELL, ZIAH COLON and RAY McKINNON.
We recently interviewed WORMALD, who talked about growing up with dance and the classic performers he looked to for inspiration. (CLICK ON THE MEDIA BAR FOR AUDIO)
