When it opens September 9th, the virus thriller Contagion may have some moviegoers trying their best to avoid human contact.
“Certainly in the back of our minds there was that idea that this movie could do for elevator buttons what Jaws did for the beach,” joked Soderbergh, whose latest film is based on a screenplay by Scott Z. Burns.
With an all-star cast (Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law), Contagion should pull in bigger box-office numbers than Sodbergh and Burns’ previous collaboration, The Informant (the drama made $33 million domestically).
