Last seen in the miniseries The Kennedys, Katie Holmes stars in Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, a horror-thriller that was co-written by Pan’s Labyrinth filmmaker Guillermo del Toro.  The picture focuses on a young girl named Sally (Bailee Madison) who discovers that monsters reside in her new Gothic estate (Blackwood Manor).  Guy Pearce (The Proposition) plays her career driven father and Holmes is his girlfriend who tries her best to bond with Sally.

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, which is a remake of the 1973 feature, opens nationwide August 26th.
